We like this unit, not just because it’s economical but because it’s so fast and easy. It connects directly to the radiator filler neck or reservoir tank and you don’t need to mess with cutting header hoses or disconnecting radiator hoses or any other time-gobbling annoyances. Don’t know why some of the other drain and fill makers want you to go through all that trouble - probably had something to do with childhood problems or something. The design folks at UVIEW were apparently raised with an appreciation for mechanics tools that just do the job and don’t manufacture unnecessary work.

Like all good coolant service units that’s vacuum operated it naturally confirms that there’s no leaks in the system “before” and not after refilling; so you can take the cost of all that wasted anti-freeze, put it in your pocket and keep it. When you drain the cooling system, this unit captures up to 12 gallons of waste antifreeze and when you refill the system, it features a three gallon new anti-freeze chamber that automatically mixes anti-freeze and water and pumps it into the serviced system. Whichever mythological god that rules over the realm of fan clutches just doesn’t like mortals and especially dislikes the technician variety of mortal more than the rest. Just the very idea of a mechanism that free spins around in one direction while somebody has to remove a nut from the same spindle has the be the creation of an entity that’s very, very angry. Now add multiple sizes from car to car and truck to truck and the anger has degenerated to outright hatred.

We all know it doesn’t have to be such a nuisance but it is and there isn’t much we can do about it. Mostly the wrenches in this kit are specifically sized to enable technicians to get into tight areas that are unique to Benz and BMW (and yeah, even some Fords) engine configurations. Works on M111, OM604, OM605 and OM606 Mercedes-Benz engines from C & E classes with 36mm opening. The BMW Fan Clutch Holding Wrenches allow the water pump pulley to be held in place while the radiator fan is loosened. Holes at 38mm & 44.5mm permits work on BMW M10, M20, M30 and many other late model vehicles. The AP78200 kit is a good addition to those tools in the AP7895 and should take speed up fan clutch removal and replacement on most cars that most technicians are likely to encounter that require these specialty mechanics tools.

Sometimes it gets a little uncomfortable when the price of specific mechanics tools starts to look too attractive. Stant 270 (also known as Stant 12270) Cooling System & Pressure Cap Testers can be used on cooling systems that require minimal pressure all the way up to the higher pressure 30 lb systems and pressure caps used on today’s most modern cars. The color coded dial makes it easy to accurately test system and pressure caps in ranges of 17-19lbs, 20 lbs and 28-30 lbs.

A handy feature is the pressure release bar that lets you release any pressure buildup. Just turn it clockwise and the pressure dissipates so you can safely remove the tester from the cooling system.
