The MA55200 Inspector™ Electronic Leak Detector with UV Blue Light offers 6 sensitivity levels.  The highest sensitivity level will detect a 1/10 ounce leak per year.  When turning on the MA55200 Inspector™, it will default to sensitivity Level 5, which is the recommended setting to start inspection.  To view the sensitivity level on the LED display, you can either press the up or the down arrows.  The LED display will illuminate for approximately 2 seconds.  There is one red LED for every sensitivity level.  One illuminated red LED is the lowest sensitivity setting and six illuminated red LED’s are the highest.  The sensitivity level can be increased by the UP arrow and decreased by the DOWN arrow.  Pressing the selected arrow once will adjust the sensitivity to the next level.  Pressing and holding the arrow will continue to move the setting until the arrow is released.  The MA55200 Inspector™ offers 15 levels of detection.  As the MA55200 Inspector™ approaches the leak source and the refrigerant concentration increases, the audible alarm will increase in speed and the LED will display will progress through a series of 3 colors, Red, Yellow, and Green.  The LED will display 5 levels of detection in each color range.  The detection level will vary depending on the level of sensitivity setting it is on.  The same size leak will display higher detection levels in higher sensitivity settings and lower detection levels in lower sensitivity settings.  There is also a reset function.  The main purpose for the reset function is to pinpoint the leak source.  When the MA55200 Inspector™ detects a leak and goes into full alarm, press the reset button.  Resetting the MA55200 Inspector™ will ignore any leaks at that level and only detect leaks at higher concentrations.  The MA55200 Inspector™ also, has an Ultra Violet Blue Light that can be used to help detect leaks in systems that have Ultra Violet Dyes.  The light can be activated by pressing the UV Light Button.  This function will operate with the MA55200 Inspector™ “On” or “Off”.  You must also wear special UV Protective Glasses.
