InfoTech Software

Yesterday we focused on the Genisys scope, and today we are going to focus on the InfoTech Software that works with it.

Not only does this software cover domestic vehicles, but it also includes coverage for Asian and European cars.  The software has engine, transmission, and ABS system coverage.

According to the Genisys website, for each vehicle specific component, the following information is available:

  • Functional Tests - walks user through complete test procedure
  • Circuit Description - gives the user a description about how the circuit functions
  • Component Locations - provides on-vehicle location of sensor
  • Circuit Diagrams - shows component wiring diagrams, including wiring coloring and names
  • Connector Diagram - displays connector pinout providing correct hookup to circuit
  • Component Specifications - lists the correct sensor operating values for specific operating conditions
  • Reference Waveforms - displays exactly what the user should and should not see when connected to the circuit

On top of all of this information, the following vehicle system tests are available:

  • EGR system tests
  • Canister purge system
  • Fuel control
  • Fuel delivery
  • Charging System
  • Starter cranking tests and voltage drop
  • Ignition system
  • OBD system
  • No-start
  • Transmission pressure, solenoid, and TCC tests
  • Back pressure

This software is extremely comprehensive and allows the user the features above, as well as a great deal of other additional features.  The InfoTech software can be used with all Genisys scan tools, even without the scope.  If used with the scope, however, the software will set up the scope for the user.
