It is safe to say that all mechanics own a hand drill and cling to it for a great deal of tough tasks on the job. However, it is a rare find to come across a mechanic who only owns a single drill. Too many nooks and crannys exist for the experienced mechanic to only tout a single drill to any given job. You require a bulky, motorized monster for the tough bolts and an angling, maneuverable dynamo for the strange odds and ends that come with your everyday work.
You may be able to reduce the number of drills you keep in your shop or in your kit if you take home a hybrid drill. As an example, the Ingersoll Rand IR7807RA 3/8-Inch Reversible Drill provides an angling body that doubles as an air tool with a firm grip reminiscent of a larger drill. It can provide the drilling power you need for more tasks than any other single drill combined.
Pneumatic pressure gives the auto mechanic the power they need to get the job done right. You can rely on all the air tools and equipment on sale through Mechanics Tool Supply’s exclusive online store. We stock products we know will help the average mechanic overcome the toughest jobs with a minimum of fuss. Take a look through our selection and you’re sure to take home an item worthy of your shop.

When using an air compressor to power your air tools, there are some important safety requirements that anyone using it should abide by. Without taking proper safety measures, issues could arise.

First off, it is not a good idea to attempt to “push” your air tool to the point in which it exceeds the pressure rating of that particular tool you are using or item you are inflating. This could cause an explosion, which could, in turn, injure someone. by exceeding the air pressure of the compressor’s tank, you could damage the compressor. For each tool you use with the compressor, you should have a user’s manual that was provided along with it. Go by the recommended operating pressure in the manual so that you do not cause these safety and operating issues to take place.
In addition, it is important to keep your air compressor’s cord in optimal condition, as the compressor will not work if the cord does not work. All three prongs should be intact in order to provide the grounding necessary, as well as enough electricity to supply the machine. Ideally, you should not use an extension cord to power the compressor as it decreases the supply of power between the outlet and the compressor. This may result in overheating the motor or a blown circuit.
These are just a few safety tips to keep in mind when powering your air compressor.
